In the 2022/23 season Tobias Hechler will make debuts as Oberon in Benjamin Britten's »A Midsummer Night's Dream« at the Theater Vorpommern and as Ruggiero in Handel's »Alcina« at the Volkstheater Rostock. He can also be seen again as Hamed in the revival of »King Hamed and Princess Sherifa« at the Hanover State Opera.
Other guest engagements have taken him to the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Theater für Niedersachsen Hildesheim, the Theater Osnabrück and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. In the world premiere of »Il canto s'attrista perché« by S. Sciarrino at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and the Wuppertaler Bühnen he sang the role of Guardiano.
As a concert soloist he has appeared in the main works of J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel, as well as in Pergolesi's »Stabat Mater«, Vivaldi's »Gloria« and in L. Bernstein's »Chichester Psalms«.
In 2021 he was a participant in the renowned Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival.
He completed his studies first at the University of the Arts in Bremen with Katharina Rössner and later with Gudrun Pelker at the University of Music, Theater and Media in Hanover. He received further impulses and coaching from Margreet Honig, Don Marrazzo and Marek Rzepka.
He was a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst.
